Mr. and Mrs. James Ash of Waldron celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house hosted by their children May 24, 2009 at the Waldron Baptist Church.
Mr. Ash and the former Helen Spurling were married May 23, 1959 in Bedford, Ky., by Justice of the Peace Clarence Egerton.
Jim is manager of Azalia Elevator Waldron and Helen is retired from Wal-Mart. They are parents of Tony Ash, Florida; Steven (Geri) Ash, Shelbyville; Pamela (Rick) Schonfeld, Waldron; and Sandra (Michael) Weaver of Waldron. The couple has 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
