Trane employee attends 9 Step Problem Solving training

RUSHVILLE — 9 Step Problem Solving is a process for doing incremental improvement towards solving a larger problem. This is done by breaking down the component parts of the problem and attacking one aspect that can affect the overall metric and can be solved or improved in a short time frame.

Phil Connolly, manufacturing technician at Trane (Ingersoll Rand)-Rushville, attended Problem Solving Training at the beginning of October. Phil traveled to Indianapolis to attend this training with peers at an Ingersoll Rand facility located there. Upon his return, Phil will perform and champion this new problem solving process to other employees at the Rushville location. The workshop Phil attended trained him in a step-by-step thinking process that teaches the discipline of how to apply these tools in a thoughtful and meaningful way.
