Engagement: 1 LT Erik Sowder and Carolyn Rowland

Rushville Republican

RUSHVILLE — 1 LT Erik Andrew Sowder (USAF), son of Robert and Robin Sowder, Rushville, and Carolyn Diane Rowland, daughter of Carole Rowland and Jeff Rowland, Augusta, Ga., would like to announce their engagement and approaching marriage. The couple is planning a Dec. 12, 2012, wedding at Julian Smith Chapel in Augusta, Ga.

The prospective groom is a 2005 graduate of Rushville Consolidated High School and a 2009 graduate of Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Business and Air Force ROTC alumni. Sowder recently returned from Afghanistan and is currently stationed at Ft Gordon, Ga.

The bride-elect is a 2008 graduate of Greenbrier High School, Evans, Ga., and pursuing a degree in early childhood education from Georgia Military College, Ga. She currently is a nanny in the Augusta, Ga., area.
