What a way to make a living!

RUSHVILLE —  The ladies will take over when the high-energy hit comedy 9 to 5 debuts at Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre as the first musical of its 40th Anniversary Season. Based on the famous 1980 film, with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton, 9 to 5 The Musical opens Feb. 7 and welcomes the return of several favorite performers to the Beef & Boards stage.

Pushed to the boiling point, three female co-workers concoct a plan to get even with the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot they call their boss. They conspire to take control of their company and learn there’s nothing they can’t do – even in a man’s world. Set in the late 1970s, 9 To 5: The Musical is a hilarious story of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era. Outrageous, thought-provoking, and even a little romantic, 9 To 5: The Musical is about teaming up and taking care of business.

Broadway performer Annie Edgerton, who debuted at Beef & Boards as Paulette Bonafonté in last season’s production of Legally Blonde, stars as head secretary Violet Newstead. Sara Hund, popular with Beef & Boards audiences for her performances in the Smoke on the Mountain series, Singin’ In The Rain, and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, plays the role of new girl, Judy Bernly. Crystal Mosser makes her Beef & Boards debut as Doralee Rhodes, played by Parton in the film.

There are 37 performances scheduled in the intimate setting provided by Beef & Boards. Tickets range from $37.50 to $62.50 and include Chef Odell Ward’s dinner buffet, fruit & salad bar, and select beverages. Discounts are available for children and groups of 20 or more. Parking is free.

For reservations call the Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre Box Office at 317.872.9664. Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays. For complete show schedule, visit www.beefandboards.com.

Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre, Indiana’s only year-round professional dinner theatre, is celebrating its 40th anniversary during 2013, having provided food & fun since 1973.
