Friends Too

RUSHVILLE —

The Friends Too Homemakers Club of Orange Township was glad to meet at Phyllis Hall’s home again. The meeting opened with roll call with good attendance and interesting replies. Minutes were approved. President Roberta Cole read the newspaper clipping from the guest meeting at Waldron Methodist Church. Paul Richard and Ruth Kessler were winners of a contest; their prize included two TV dinners, a tea and drink mix and a plastic flower bouquet. Fair activities were discussed. Ruth Kessler donated bibs for the baby show. Sheila Link and Ann McDaniel volunteered for the Exhibit Hall. Attending the Moscow Bridge Festival and future meeting plans were discussed. Jean Chandler gave an excellent lesson about healthy eating: Eat Well, Live Well and Snack Smart. Fat and salt are important to consider, and she stressed going to farmer’s markets. The refreshment committee was Jean Chandler, Roberta Cole and Linda Chandler. They served ice cream, strawberries and a variety of cookies. Linda Chandler brought home-grown, delicious strawberries. The next meeting will be at the home of Gladys Kuhn on July 28.
