RHS/RCHS Alumni Association news
The 52nd annual RHS/RCHS Alumni Association meeting was held June 20, 2009 in the Rushville Elementary gym with approximately 175 in attendance.
Shirley (Becraft) Converse (’57) welcomed the guests. Invocation was given by Tom McCully (’59 class president). A moment of silence was held in memory of Duane Newhouse, who passed away this past year. He was a former board member and past president.
The banquet was served by Susie Pavey Odum (’68).
Treasurer’s report was given by Cinda Ellis Pavey (’76). Secretary’s report was presented in program in the absence of Anita Spurlin Simpson (’71).
John Gridley (’69), incoming president, recognized the classes and the 50 year class. Tom McCully (’59) spoke for the honor class. Chuck Robbins, past teacher and coach (’56 to ‘60), spoke about teaching this class.
Scholarships were presented by David Payne (’83) to Caleb Drake, son of Kerry and Linda Drake. He is attending Rose Hulman. Hillary Orme, daughter of Bret and Michelle Orme, is attending Franklin College. Allison Harpring, daughter of Ed and Mary Ann Harpring, was unable to attend. She is attending Butler University.
Debbie O’Neal (’76) presented the Service Award to Betty Busald Green (’71). Dan Green accepted the award on his wife’s behalf.
Darcy Wilkinson Keith (’87) was presented the Porky Wainwright Jr. Award by Debbie O’Neal.
The Bob Waggoner Award was presented to Kay Rhodes Wood (’59).
Flower arrangements went to Janet Mauzy and Louise Arnold Theobald.
The next reunion will be at 6 p.m. June 21, 2010 in the RES gym.

Leslie Michelle Shouse and Harold Martin Spooner were united in marriage June 19, 2010. The wedding was held at 5:30 p.m. at Allisonville Christian Church in Indianapolis with Harold Spooner officiating.
