Ribbon cut at new location
The Rush County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony Oct. 3 for our newest Chamber member business, Illusions Day Spa and Salon. Owners Penny Keller and Nikki Himes hosted the grand opening celebration at their new location, 1147 West Third Street, Rushville. The celebration began with the cutting of the ribbon and was followed by employees offering a host of services free to the public. Those in attendance were offered free tanning, chair massage, make up consultations, fingernail painting and eyebrow waxing. Food was provided by the owners and staff, as many clients took advantage of opening day specials.
In late March, 2009, owners Penny Keller and Nikki Himes began tossing around the idea of purchasing their own building and expanding local offerings. The new building allowed the owners and employees to incorporate three tanning suites with state of the art tanning beds, and also create a new service line, tuxedo rental. The staff at Illusions Salon and Day Spa all went through rigorous training with the tuxedo rental line, including professional measuring advice and guidance by the tuxedo vendor. Further, the new facility has allowed space for other retail items such as purses, sunglasses and cosmetic bags. The new building features modern upscale décor and is truly one of the nicest salon and day spas in Eastern Indiana.
In conversations with Penny, one thing has become perfectly clear, her dedication to Rushville is admirable.
