n The Boys & Girls Club of Rush County is currently signing up for boys seventh and eighth grade leagues and ninth through 12th grade leagues. Sign-ups will run through Saturday. WEDNESDAY (12/2)
n Arlington Elementary School has collected canned food and clothes for The Drive event sponsored by The League again this year. The school accepted clothing including shoes and canned food through Nov. 25 (the day before Thanksgiving). AES will have a “Clothing Free-for-All” from 4 to 6 p.m. Dec. 2 in the school gym to distribute clothing to our community. All clothing items will be free to those who come. All food items were donated to Arlington Christian Church’s food pantry for distribution in our community.
n The Rush County Senior Center will host its annual Christmas Bazaar in conjunction with the Beta Sigma Phi Candlelight Home Tour from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. We are taking reservations for booth space for the bazaar. If interested call 932-2935. Sign-up at Center for $50 gas card. Drawing at 8:45 p.m. You must be present to win.
n Beta Sigma Phi annual Christmas Candlelight Home Tour is from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Tickets available at Rushville Pharmacy, Bridal Boutique, Park Restaurant, Shampoo Bowl and Rush County Senior Center.
THURSDAY (12/3)
n A blood drive is set to run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 3. The bloodmobile will be parked in the Trane parking lot. All donors will receive a Colt’s football autographed by No. 28 Marlin Jackson (defensive back).
n The Rush County Health Department will conduct its next immunization clinic for children from 8 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 6 p.m. Dec. 3 in Room 105 of the Rush County Courthouse. There will be seasonal flu shots for children. No H1N1 vaccine will be given at this clinic. Next H1N1 clinic will be from 8 a.m. to noon Dec. 12. These are free of charge from the Indiana State Department of Health. Parents or guardians are required to sign permission forms each time the child receives an immunization. n “A Ceremony of Carols and “Gloria” will be presented by the Cathedral Choir of Men and Boys at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 6 at Christ Church Cathedral (www.cccindy.org) as part of the Choral Masterworks Series.

n Rushville Music Study Club presents “Christmas at the Movies” at 7 p.m. Dec. 9. This program is open to the public and will be held at First Presbyterian Church, corner of Third and Morgan Streets. No admission charge but a free-will offering will be accepted to support the club’s scholarship fund.

n Farm Bureau Insurance will host a retirement open house for Joe Keith from 1 to 4 p.m. Dec. 15 at 1056 South Old 3, Rushville. Everyone is welcome.

n Support the troops through the holidays: The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 150 would like to have the names of those family members who are serving our country that are in our community. We are wanting to be a support group for the family members that are home waiting for their soldier to return, and be able to send care packages to them.
