TUESDAY (12/1)
n Rushville Unsafe Hearing Board will meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday in Council Chambers, 270 W. 15th Street. Rushville Board of Public Works and Safety will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in Council Chambers. Rushville Common Council will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Council Chambers.
WEDNESDAY (12/2)
n Arlington Elementary School has collected canned food and clothes for The Drive event sponsored by The League again this year. The school accepted clothing including shoes and canned food through Nov. 25 (the day before Thanksgiving). AES will have a “Clothing Free-for-All” from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday in the school gym to distribute clothing to our community. All clothing items will be free to those who come. All food items were donated to Arlington Christian Church’s food pantry for distribution in our community.
n The Rush County Senior Center will host its annual Christmas Bazaar in conjunction with the Beta Sigma Phi Candlelight Home Tour from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. We are taking reservations for booth space for the bazaar. If interested call 932-2935. Sign-up at Center for $50 gas card. Drawing at 8:45 p.m. You must be present to win.
n Beta Sigma Phi annual Christmas Candlelight Home Tour is from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Tickets available at Rushville Pharmacy, Bridal Boutique, Park Restaurant, Shampoo Bowl and Rush County Senior Center.
THURSDAY (12/3)
n A blood drive is set to run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday. The bloodmobile will be parked in the Trane parking lot. All donors will receive a Colt’s football autographed by No. 28 Marlin Jackson (defensive back).
n The Rush County Health Department will conduct its next immunization clinic for children from 8 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 6 p.m. Thursday in Room 105 of the Rush County Courthouse. There will be seasonal flu shots for children. No H1N1 vaccine will be given at this clinic. Next H1N1 clinic will be from 8 a.m. to noon Dec. 12. These are free of charge from the Indiana State Department of Health. Parents or guardians are required to sign permission forms each time the child receives an immunization. Records of previous immunizations should be brought in with the child. Questions may be directed to 765-932-3103, Rush County Health Department.

n Mancino’s Pizza & Grinders at Connersville will donate 10 percent of all sales to Magic Moments for delivery, carry-out and dine-in from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, the day of the Rushville Connersville ball game. Magic Moments is a not-for-profit child care center.
SATURDAY (12/5)
n Hanging of the Greens for the Rush County Historical Society Museum will be Saturday. Your help is needed to prepare the garlands. We will meet at 8:30 a.m. Dec. 5 at the RCHS shop. Enter at west door. Bring gloves and cutters. For questions call Marion Liggett at 932-5217.
n There will be an old-fashioned Christmas bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Carthage Community Center. Santa arrives in horse-drawn wagon at 11 a.m. and you can get photos with Santa from 11 a.m. to p.m. for $2. Free horse-drawn wagon rides. Lunch sold from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sponsored by Walnut Ridge Friends Meeting.
n There will be a Holiday Fair from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday in the RCHS cafeteria. Children are $1; adults are free. Come get your picture taken with Santa. Breakfast available. Visit the many children's activity booths. Fun for all, especially children age 12 or under. Sponsored by the clubs and groups of RCHS.

n “A Ceremony of Carols and “Gloria” will be presented by the Cathedral Choir of Men and Boys at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Christ Church Cathedral (www.cccindy.org) as part of the Choral Masterworks Series.
WEDNESDAY (12/9)
n Rushville Music Study Club presents “Christmas at the Movies” at 7 p.m. Dec. 9. This program is open to the public and will be held at First Presbyterian Church, corner of Third and Morgan Streets. No admission charge but a free-will offering will be accepted to support the club’s scholarship fund.
TUESDAY (12/15)
n Farm Bureau Insurance will host a retirement open house for Joe Keith from 1 to 4 p.m. Dec. 15 at 1056 South Old 3, Rushville. Everyone is welcome.
n The Memory Crafters Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 15 at Main Street Christian Church. There will be a $5 gift exchange and snacks. For more information about Memory Crafters Club you can contact Melody Lemmons at 765-525-9445.
n The Manilla Town & Country Homemakers Club will have a Christmas dinner meeting at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 16 at the home of Norene Wright. The officers will cohost and Marjorie Carmony will give devotions. Members will enjoy a secret pal gift exchange.
SATURDAY (12/19)
n The Boys & Girls Club of Rush County will host its annual Christmas parties for the youth of Rush County Dec. 19. The boys’ party will begin at 9 a.m. and the girls’ party will begin at noon. Open to all children ages 5 to 19; club membership not required. All attendees receive a gift as well as a snack.

n Support the troops through the holidays: The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 150 would like to have the names of those family members who are serving our country that are in our community. We are wanting to be a support group for the family members that are home waiting for their soldier to return, and be able to send care packages to them. Contact the post at 765-561-8896 and allow us to have the information requested. Special thanks to those families that are serving with their loved ones for our freedom.

n A dance at the Raleigh Community Club is held from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. every Saturday. Everyone is welcome.

n The Community Food Pantry is open every Tuesday and Thursday and the last Saturday of every month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 109 East Third Street. Please bring your photo ID. Donations are welcome.
n The Rush County Victim's Assistance, Inc. has its monthly meeting on the third Monday of each month at 6 p.m. For location please contact the office at 938-1555. The public always is invited to attend. For more information contact Barbara Kuhn at 938-1555.
n The Board of Health for Rush County will hold its monthly meetings at 7 p.m. every third Tuesday except for December, when there is not a scheduled meeting.
n The Alzheimer’s Association offers support groups for caregivers of persons with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias. Participants receive emotional support, practical assistance in coping with issues they face and the latest information about research. Meetings are confidential and free. Meetings are held in Rushville at 7 p.m. on the third Thursday of every month at Rush Memorial Hospital, 1300 N. Main Street, third floor conference room. n A parent support group meets at 6 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month in the Rushville Public Library meeting room. This group is for parents, guardians, caregivers or any family member of someone with mental or physical challenges. Those attending the group decide the topics.
