THURSDAY (12/3)
n A blood drive is set to run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. today. The bloodmobile will be parked in the Trane parking lot. All donors will receive a Colt’s football autographed by No. 28 Marlin Jackson (defensive back).
n The Rush County Health Department will conduct its next immunization clinic for children from 8 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 6 p.m. today in Room 105 of the Rush County Courthouse. There will be seasonal flu shots for children. No H1N1 vaccine will be given at this clinic. Next H1N1 clinic will be from 8 a.m. to noon Dec. 12. These are free of charge from the Indiana State Department of Health. Parents or guardians are required to sign permission forms each time the child receives an immunization. Records of previous immunizations should be brought in with the child. Questions may be directed to 765-932-3103, Rush County Health Department.
FRIDAY (12/4)
n American Legion No. 150 will have a steak night from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday.
n Mancino’s Pizza & Grinders at Connersville will donate 10 percent of all sales to Magic Moments for delivery, carry-out and dine-in from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, the day of the Rushville Connersville ball game. Magic Moments is a not-for-profit child care center.
n It’s a dance for elementary students only from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Boys & Girls Club of Rush County. DJ Kevin Green. Cost $3 per person. Proceeds benefit the club.
SATURDAY (12/5)
n Hanging of the Greens for the Rush County Historical Society Museum will be Saturday. Your help is needed to prepare the garlands. We will meet at 8:30 a.m. Dec. 5 at the RCHS shop. Enter at west door. Bring gloves and cutters. For questions call Marion Liggett at 932-5217.
n There will be an old-fashioned Christmas bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Carthage Community Center. Santa arrives in horse-drawn wagon at 11 a.m. and you can get photos with Santa from 11 a.m. to p.m. for $2. Free horse-drawn wagon rides. Lunch sold from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sponsored by Walnut Ridge Friends Meeting.
n There will be a Holiday Fair from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday in the RCHS cafeteria. Children are $1; adults are free. Come get your picture taken with Santa. Breakfast available. Visit the many children's activity booths. Fun for all, especially children age 12 or under. Sponsored by the clubs and groups of RCHS.
n The Clean Green Rush Tox-Away Center will be open 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at Smiley Avenue in Rushville. Call 938-1342 for more information.
SUNDAY (12/6)
n “A Ceremony of Carols” and “Gloria” will be presented by the Cathedral Choir of Men and Boys at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Christ Church Cathedral (www.cccindy.org) as part of the Choral Masterworks Series.
MONDAY (12/7)
n The Rush County Solid Waste Management Board of Directors will meet at 4:15 p.m. Monday in the courthouse Assembly Room. This also will be the joint meeting of the Citizens Advisory Committee. The meeting is open to anyone wishing to attend.
TUESDAY (12/8)
n Phoenix Lodge No. 62 F.&A.M.; will have its regular stated meeting at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Election of officers will take place at this meeting. All Master Masons are welcome to attend.
n The Milroy Research Literary Club will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the home of Marty Brooks. Carolyn Cleland and her harp will present the program. Members will have a $3 to $5 gift exchange.
WEDNESDAY (12/9)
n Rushville Music Study Club presents “Christmas at the Movies” at 7 p.m. Dec. 9. This program is open to the public and will be held at First Presbyterian Church, corner of Third and Morgan Streets. No admission charge but a free-will offering will be accepted to support the club’s scholarship fund.
n The Friendly Homemakers will meet at noon Dec. 9 at the home of Sarah Halterman with Margaret Reynolds as cohostess. Alice Niedenthal will give the inspiration. Roll call will be to bring a covered dish to share for our Christmas party. There will be a $5 gift exchange. Everyone come and be ready for great fun and fellowship.
n Rush County Heritage is hosting its 24th annual Christmas Fellowship Get-together at the Dutch Mill Buffet near Milroy with the buffet meal to begin at 6 p.m. Carolyn Cleland will be providing the entertainment on her harp. Everyone is welcome. RVSP at 629-2892. No advance tickets will be sold.
n Hint Hunters Homemakers Club will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the home of Rochelle Christan, 605 N. Perkins Street, Rushville with Betsy Fox as cohostess. This will be a “Swiss Traditional Fare.” Roll call will be Christmas plans.

n The Gingham Pals Home Ec Club will have its Christmas party 6:30 p.m. Dec. 10 at the home of Rosie Chance. There will be a $10 gift exchange and the donation for the pantry this month is a free will offering. Please RSVP by Dec. 8 at 932-5350.
TUESDAY (12/15)
n Farm Bureau Insurance will host a retirement open house for Joe Keith from 1 to 4 p.m. Dec. 15 at 1056 South Old 3, Rushville. Everyone is welcome.
n The Memory Crafters Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 15 at Main Street Christian Church. There will be a $5 gift exchange and snacks. For more information about Memory Crafters Club you can contact Melody Lemmons at 765-525-9445.
n The Manilla Town & Country Homemakers Club will have a Christmas dinner meeting at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 16 at the home of Norene Wright. The officers will cohost and Marjorie Carmony will give devotions. Members will enjoy a secret pal gift exchange.
SATURDAY (12/19)
n The Boys & Girls Club of Rush County will host its annual Christmas parties for the youth of Rush County Dec. 19. The boys’ party will begin at 9 a.m. and the girls’ party will begin at noon. Open to all children ages 5 to 19; club membership not required. All attendees receive a gift as well as a snack.

n Support the troops through the holidays: The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 150 would like to have the names of those family members who are serving our country that are in our community. We are wanting to be a support group for the family members that are home waiting for their soldier to return, and be able to send care packages to them. Contact the post at 765-561-8896 and allow us to have the information requested. Special thanks to those families that are serving with their loved ones for our freedom.

n A dance at the Raleigh Community Club is held from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. every Saturday. Everyone is welcome.

n The Community Food Pantry is open every Tuesday and Thursday and the last Saturday of every month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 109 East Third Street. Please bring your photo ID. Donations are welcome.
n The Rush County Victim's Assistance, Inc. has its monthly meeting on the third Monday of each month at 6 p.m. For location please contact the office at 938-1555. The public always is invited to attend. For more information contact Barbara Kuhn at 938-1555.
n The Board of Health for Rush County will hold its monthly meetings at 7 p.m. every third Tuesday except for December, when there is not a scheduled meeting.
n The Alzheimer’s Association offers support groups for caregivers of persons with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias. Participants receive emotional support, practical assistance in coping with issues they face and the latest information about research. Meetings are confidential and free. Meetings are held in Rushville at 7 p.m. on the third Thursday of every month at Rush Memorial Hospital, 1300 N. Main Street, third floor conference room. n A parent support group meets at 6 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month in the Rushville Public Library meeting room. This group is for parents, guardians, caregivers or any family member of someone with mental or physical challenges. Those attending the group decide the topics.
