Jana Dorsey, head pharmacist at Kroger, spoke to Mental Health America/Rush County members at their October meeting about the importance of getting vaccinations. Now is the time to get flu vaccinations.
She also informed the group about vaccinations for shingles which could prevent getting the disease or decease the severity.
Pat Springman reported that the “Super Terrific Kid” programs are under way at all kindergarten classes in Rush County. Rita Emsweller noted that the Gift Lift Tree on the first floor of the Rush County Courthouse would be up through the end of November. Gifts must be returned by Dec. 2 so they can be wrapped and ready for the nursing homes.
Lil Miller has been busy cutting out decorations for the gift bags for the nursing home residents.
The next meeting will be Nov. 20 at the Elks. This is a week earlier due to Thanksgiving. Program to be announced. Everyone is welcome to attend the monthly luncheons and programs. New volunteers are always needed and welcome.
