Sarah Ann Harmeyer and Joseph Henry Hilger were married at 1:30 p.m. April 12, 2008 at Saint Mary Catholic Church in Rushville. Father William Turner officiated the double-ring ceremony and Deacon Edward Hilger co-celebrated.
Maid of Honor was Michelle Harmeyer, Lewisville, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Jennifer Matsusaki, Florence, Ky., bride’s friend; Anita Harmeyer, Noblesville, bride’s cousin; Latt Bounmthavong, South Bend, bride’s friend; Katharine Curry, Indianapolis, bride’s friend; Patrease Traylor, Huntsville, Ala., bride’s friend. Flower girl was Amy Wall, Fort Wayne, groom’s cousin.
Best man was James Hilger, Fort Wayne, groom’s brother. Groom’s attendants were Philip Hilger, Fort Wayne, groom’s brother; Patrick Hilger, Fort Wayne, groom’s brother; William Hilger, Fort Wayne, groom’s brother; Grant Reeves, Greenfield, groom’s friend; Andrew Schipper, Fort Wayne, groom’s cousin. Ring bearer was Jacob Deutsch, Batesville, bride’s cousin.
Mary Hilger, groom’s sister-in-law, was the organist. Carrie Hilger, groom’s sister-in-law, and Kathleen Hilger, groom’s cousin, were the vocalists.
Jeff Harmeyer and Bill Harmeyer, bride’s brothers, served as readers and ushers. James Poinsatte, groom’s grandfather, also was a reader.
Greeters were Janet Hilger, Annette Hilger and Theresa Hilger, sisters of the groom.
The reception was at the Root Building in Rushville and was catered by Lori Hoeing. Cake servers were Carla Schenk and Kimberly Steckler, bride’s friends.
Grandparents attending were Clara Merkel and James and Maxine Poinsatte.
The rehearsal dinner was at the home of Michael and Doris Harmeyer.
The daughter of Michael and Doris Harmeyer of Lewisville, the bride is a 1998 graduate of Rushville High School and 2002 graduate of Purdue University. She currently works for the Diocese of South Bend.
The son of Joseph and Elaine Hilger of Fort Wayne, the groom is a 1998 graduate of Bishop Dwenger High School, 2002 graduate of Rose Hulman Institute of Technology, 2004 graduate of Purdue University and 2007 graduate of Indiana Wesleyan MBA program. He works for Zimmer, Warsaw.
After a wedding trip to Texas, the couple resides in Fort Wayne.
