wedding: Harness-Smith


Jennifer Lynn Harness and Dustin Ross Smith were united in marriage at 4:30 p.m. July 26, 2008 at Little Flat Rock Christian Church in Rush County. Pastor Howard Bullard officiated the double ring ceremony.

Organist was Marge Amos and groom’s favorite high school teacher and friend David Doyle was soloist.

Maid of Honor was Clair Starkey, Rushville, friend of bride. Bridesmaids were Michelle Harness, Amy Carmony and Melissa Harness, all sisters of the bride.

Ryan Smith of El Paso, Texas served his brother’s best man. Groomsmen were Clayton Gerrian and Greg Monroe, groom’s friends and Aaron Harness, bride’s brother. Ushers were Dylan Osborne, groom’s cousin and Josh Matney, groom’s friend.

Flower girl was Hailey Marshall, couple’s friend. Ring bearers were Christopher Owens and Tyler Carmony, bride’s nephews.

The reception was at the New Salem Lions Club catered by Sam and Maria Trebley. Cake servers were Jan Wilhelm and Joni Osborne, groom’s cousins.

Grandparents attending were Ruby Osborne and Mabel Smith, both of Rushville.

The groom’s parents hosted the rehearsal dinner at their home catered by Sue Netherly.

The daughter of John and Diana Harness of Shelbyville, the bride is a 2003 graduate of Shelbyville High School. She has attended college at IUPUI and Ivy Tech. She currently is employed at Paula Deen’s Restaurant, The Lady and Sons in Savannah, Ga.

The son of Terry and Brenda Smith of Rushville, the groom is a 1999 graduate of Rushville Consolidated High School. He currently is serving with the United States Army and is stationed in Savannah, Ga.

The couple honeymooned in Las Vegas, Nev.
