Plum Creek Christian Church

“Ezra Men” – What a joy and privilege it was to have Rory Christensen, former minister at Plum Creek, deliver this week’s Father’s Day Sermon. Because this world is changing at a phenomenal pace, fathers (parents) are faced with the challenge of how to lead and prepare their children. His message was from Ezra 7:10, “For Ezra had studied and devoted himself to the observance of the law of the Lord and teaching its decrees and laws in Israel.” Ezra’s example was to study, devote himself and teach God’s word. When we devote ourselves to studying God’s word we are reading for transformation in our lives. We receive what it speaks to us. We meditate on the meaning and contemplate the teaching. We pray about what the text has stirred in our hearts. We apply scripture into our everyday life. We look for opportunities to share what we have learned and teach as we live. Children are looking for leadership in these changing times. No other preparation than the devotion and observance to God’s word will impact our children’s lives more. There is no greater gift we can give our children than being like Ezra, completely devoted to studying God’s word, living its instructions and teaching others through its example.

Come learn how to be an Ezra man or woman at Plum Creek Christian Church.

Carthage Wesleyan Church

Assistant Pastor Doug Stroud preached a message Sunday morning about the woman at the well. Jesus had approached the well and asked the Samaritan woman for a drink, much to her surprise because the Jews and the Samaritans did not usually associate together but Jesus revealed to her that day the water of life. Many had already counted this woman out but Jesus did not. Jesus ministered to her that day regardless of her nationality or of her spiritual condition. Jesus had not counted this women out, just the same as we need to minister to those whom others have counted out.

We here at the Carthage Wesleyan Church would like to invite everyone to join us for biblical based teachings that can be applied to your life. Here at The Carthage Wesleyan Church you are only a stranger once.
