RMH Foundation forms Seed Circle

RUSHVILLE — The Rush Memorial Hospital Foundation is happy to announce the formation of a new and exciting group of supporters. This new group called “The Seed Circle” is the brainchild RMH Foundation Executive Director Faith Mock. “Call it a clan, call it a network, call it a tribe, call it a family. Whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one.” said Jane Howard. According to Mock the foundation is forming a group of women in the community to support the healthcare needs, projects, and vision of Rush Memorial Hospital.

The initial group of 26 ladies met this month and formed a partnership with the foundation. They will be using their varying talents to support events, campaigns, and projects of the hospital. This group will participate in the planning and execution of the many philanthropic projects of Rush Memorial. At the first meeting these ladies were given a tour of the hospital, including the new digital mammography suite. They were then presented with information concerning the several funds that the RMH Foundation has established. RMH Foundation Board President Anne Zachery and board member Shannon Cagle-Dawson spoke on the importance of this group to meet the ever increasing challenges and goals of the foundation. Dawson stated, “We have one of the best, if not the best, small rural hospitals in Indiana. You should be proud of the dedication and attention each staff member gives to every patient that enters the hospital. That personal care is not always seen in a larger urban facility. But it is here at RMH.”

The group was shown a power point program on the new Pediatric Office Building plan. The hospital has purchased a building at 1339 North Cherry Street and now the foundation is working to raise $670,000 to make it ready for pediatric patients next year.

Membership information was gathered and an invitation extended to invite additional interested ladies to join the Seed Circle. The group will meet every other month with the next meeting on Tuesday, January 22, 2012 at 6:30PM in the Kenneth L. Earnest Conference Center. The evening ended with Human Resources Generalist Debbie Meek and Marketing Director Julie Dragoo leading the group in playing CHILD Bingo. Prizes of beautiful handmade baskets, woven by Rushville resident Margie Bowman, were given away to three lucky winners. Seed Circle popcorn favors were presented to each attendee.

If you are interested in joining the Seed Circle contact Faith Mock at the RMH Foundation office by calling 765-932-7568. “We need the support of energetic, creative, go-getter women to bring attention to the great changes and services offered at Rush Memorial. We need your expertise, ideas, and support. You can help us from home or at events. Please join this fun and exciting group. We need you,” stated Foundation Director Faith Mock.
