Sunny the clown (Gini Whittaker) helped Pat Springman and Rita Emsweller of Mental Health America in Rush County delivery summer treats to residents of Flatrock River Lodge.
Thelma Jaggers is surprised when Sunny, Pat and Shanda Gray stopped by her table at the Lodge. Savannah Gray also helped pass out the treat bags. Mental Health is an agency of the Rush County United Fund.

Senior Screening June 12
The Rush County Health Department will hold their next Senior Screening from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, at the Rush County Health Department, Room 105, Rush County Courthouse, Rushville. This is available to all Rush County senior citizens at no cost. These screenings include weight, blood pressure, pulse, respiration, hemoglobin and blood sugar. Also, health education will be included during the screening program. Referrals to private physicians will be made when needed. Any questions may be directed to 765-932-3103.

May has been Mental Health Month, an annual observation to raise awareness of mental health and addiction disorders as well as the effective treatments that are available. This month is an ideal time for us to start a conversation about mental health, confront misconceptions and come together as a community to protect the health of those who will face a mental illness this year.
