Dear Editor:
The family of Lawrence Frank would like to express our heartfelt thanks to those who showed their love and support during the time of Dad’s passing. Words cannot begin to express our gratitude for all those who offered words of encouragement, shoulders to cry on, or simply stood with us in silence. We were never at a loss for food or hugs; both were plentiful. We do not know the names of all those who brought food to the funeral home, please know that it was greatly appreciated. The cards, flowers, planters, and memorials were a poignant tribute to our father. We would like to give special thanks to Father Turner for his prayers and support on the day of Dad’s death as well as the funeral service; it was very touching. Annette’s voice along with Trudy’s music lifted all of our spirits and having friends and family participate in the service meant so much to our family. A special thanks to the Knights of Columbus for allowing our large family to enjoy friendship and share wonderful memories in their facility. To the ladies that prepared the meal, the dinner was delicious and much appreciated. To all those who contributed to the dinner, you have our deepest appreciation. Your hard work and devotion to this committee is beyond measure. To the staff at Hospice, you were a comfort to both Dad and his family. We would also like to thank Todd’s Funeral Home for their excellent care and devoted attention to Dad and our family during this difficult time. Dad would have been proud of the tribute shown by the Honor Guard; we will treasure the flag as a reminder of his contribution to our country. Last but not least, to all of Dad’s siblings, he may have been the oldest and the rock that you leaned on in your time of need, but you were his rock when he needed you the most. Our family is blessed to have you in our lives.
Thank you,
Karen Mayse and family

Is Romney still a conservative? TV media doesn't think so
Dear Editor:
It's interesting to note that television reporters and talking heads now use the term "conservative" to refer only to those on the extreme far right. -
Right to Work: What's the rush?
Dear Editor:
Why the rush to pass Right to Work? The Republicans have all the power and could pass this anytime during this short session. -

RE: Forced "fairness" not government's role
Dear Editor,
I again find myself puzzled by Mr. Barada's columns.
It seems that Mr. Barada believes that that there is an Obama-occupy army waiting around every street corner to kidnap our children and force them into a life of Socialist servitude. -
What about The Star Spangled Banner?
Dear Editor,
When it was recently announced that an Indiana state Senator had introduced a bill calling for rules regulating the performance of our national anthem, some of you may have groaned, "Well, Norm Voiles will certainly weigh in on that one!" - More Letters to the Editor Headlines
