Emsweller: Thanks for making Holiday Expo a success

RUSHVILLE — Rush County Victim’s Assistance, Inc., would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support of the Holiday Expo held at the Rushville Elementary East and West Gyms on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012.

We would especially like to thank all of the vendors, Tom Owens and the East and West Rushville Elementary School administrative and custodial staffs, John and Cindy Pavey for the use of their tables, the Rushville Republican for their great advertising, all of the volunteers who helped in any way, and all of those who attended the Expo.

The proceeds from this event will help with the operating costs of the Phoenix House, our domestic abuse shelter, which opened on Sept. 1, 2011.

Thanks again to everyone for making the 2012 Holiday Expo such a great success.

Library should be county-wide
Dear Editor:
I read with interest Paul Barada’s column proposing that the Rushville Library should become a county facility.
Way back in 1990, shortly after I became publisher of the Rushville Republican, I approached the director of the library, informing her that I wished to put the entire resources of the local newspaper behind a drive to convert the city library to a county library.
