Dear Editor:
On May 21 Rush County Youth Baseball and Babe Ruth Baseball held their annual pork chop dinner. This dinner is held every year to help offset the costs of running the baseball leagues for the youth of Rush County. At this year’s fundraiser, over 1,000 dinners were served. We, the officers of the league, would like to take this time to thank those responsible for the success of this event.
We would like to thank the kids who sold the tickets, parents and coaches for working the dinner, but most of all we want to thank the citizens of Rush County for buying tickets and attending the dinner. Your financial support has helped provide for the upkeep to the facilities at which the games are played, and the purchasing of new equipment for the kids. Most of all, we have been able to keep league fees down to a minimum while surrounding counties have continued to raise fees.
We would also like to thank the businesses of Rush County for purchasing advertising banners that are displayed on the outfield fences of each diamond. This year we have received financial support from more than 40 different businesses. Your continuous financial support has provided year after year for the youth baseball leagues of Rush County.
Respectfully submitted,
The 2009 Rush County Youth Baseball officers
