Dear Editor:
My family and I drive through Rushville to visit family. -
Remembering an old friend
Dear Editor:
The Mike Lacy I knew was a man who lived in the past. We only spent time with each other a few years, in high school and for a few years after. Mike and I shared a love of old movies, TV shows, music, and classic radio programs. Along with friends, we participated in parades in Rushville and other activities, dressing as the Marx Brothers with Mike portraying W.C. Fields (this was when Mike was heavier and before he became his svelte self). -
Family offers thanks
Dear Editor:
The Morrell family would like to thank all the people who sent cards, flowers, and donations in memory of our mother, Elizabeth Morrell, who recently passed away. She was 93 years old and lived a full and rich life. She was a pillar of support for her late husband George H. Morrell, my brother and I, as well as our wives and children. We will truly miss her, but it was her time and none of us will live forever. -
Giving thanks
I wish to thank everyone for their care and concern during my surgery and recuperation from knee surgery.

Land grab isn’t justified
Dear Editor:
The Delaware County Circuit Court recently ruled that Ball State University could forcibly take private property to build a hotel. As if this decision wasn’t horrible enough, BSU is also insisting that the victims of the decision should be required to post a $1 million appeal bond before another court can re-hear the case. -
Common Core concerns
Dear Editor:
As out of state investors and pro-privatize education interest groups pour into our state with their deep pockets to advocate through media advertisements in favor of Common Core State Standards, it would seem the practitioners commissioned to implement them should be consulted as well. As a teacher of 22 years in our public schools, concerns exist with the newest “fad” to sweep the nation. -
Economy calls for caution
Dear Editor:
Few Hoosiers read the financial pages because the information presented seems complex, pessimistic, or occasionally too optimistic. -
An observation
Dear Editor:
Over 100 years ago, the great Mark Twain famously wrote: “Suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were a member of Congress. But I repeat myself.” -
Mock’s efforts appreciated
Dear Editor:
Rush County 4-H would like to thank Faith Mock, executive director of the Rush Memorial Hospital Foundation, for her work preparing a training for all 4-H Health and Safety leaders. -
Only women should decide women’s issues
Dear Editor:
How’s this for a badly needed new law? Only female legislators should be allowed to vote on matters relating to women’s health and reproductive systems. - More Letters to the Editor Headlines
