RUSHVILLE —
The Indiana Department of Transportation will close an 11-mile section of U.S. Highway 52, between Rushville and Andersonville, Monday, Nov. 5, for approximately 25 days in order to mill and resurface the highway.
INDOT officials met with Milestone Contractors LP for this $1,289,726 Greenfield District resurfacing project in Rush and Franklin Counties Friday to work out a timetable for paving operations.

Paving a 1½ inch surface lift of asphalt begins one day behind the milling operation on Tuesday, Nov. 6.
To expedite milling and resurfacing, the state will close U.S. 52 to motorists, allowing local residential traffic to be directed by flaggers through active work zones. This will be a “hard” closure for through-trucks. Indiana State Police are being asked to enforce through-truck compliance.
The schedule calls for all work to be completed, weather permitting, by Nov. 30.
Two weeks ago, INDOT officials pulled back from plans for a remedial chip-seal application in favor of resurfacing the roadway. Since that time, an all-out effort has been made to expedite the project.
