RUSHVILLE —
The Rush County Community Foundation Board of Directors recently elected four new board members to replace Amy Meyer Ploeger, Barbara White, Darwin Brewer and Michael R. Wicker, who completed their terms in December, 2011.
Mary Hill, Greg Krodel, Keith Perin and Charles Smith graciously accepted the opportunity to serve on the Foundation board. Their terms began Jan. 1, 2012.
Mary works for Rush County Schools and is a lifelong resident of Rush County. She and her husband, Arnie, live in the Falmouth area. She has one adult child, Brian and two grandchildren. She is a member of the Rushville St. Mary's Catholic Church and in her spare time enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
When asked why she agreed to serve as a Foundation board member she said "I have never served on any committees for the community and I thought this might be rewarding. Our community has always served me so maybe I can return a favor to our community."
Greg works for McSherr, Inc. and has lived in Rush County for seven years. He and his wife, Jennifer, live in Union Township and have three children, Caleb, Lily and Isaac. In his spare time he enjoys golfing, running and coaching youth soccer. He is also currently pursuing his Private Pilot license.
"I was just honored when asked to serve on such an important institution for the future of Rush County and its citizens," he stated when asked why he accepted the invitation to serve on the Foundation Board.
Keith works for Rush County Schools and was born and raised in Rush County and has lived in the community for 40 years. He and his wife, Kim, live in Rushville and have two adult children, Megan Tucker and Lauren Perin and one grandchild. He serves on the boards of the Rushville Public Library and
Changing Footprints. His hobbies include reading, music and sports and he enjoys spending time with his family.
He accepted a position on the Foundation board because "as a nearly lifelong resident of Rush County, and particularly as a teacher in Rush County Schools, I have seen many people benefit from the benevolence of the Foundation. I feel extremely honored to have been asked and hope I can contribute positively to the Foundation."
Charles farms in Posey Township with his father-in-law and son and was born and raised in Rush County. He and his wife, Lurinda, live in Posey Township and have two adult children, Elisabeth and David. His memberships include Main Street Christian Church, Posey Township Volunteer Fire Department
and the Rush County Agricultural Association
The reason he accepted the offer to join the Foundation board is "To help with the future of Rush County with support for the Foundation."
Pamela A. Hoeing, president of the board stated "We want to thank our retiring board members for their service. Barbara had served on our board for twelve years and Amy, Darwin and Mike served for six years each. They have all been very active board members and shown great leadership for the Foundation and will continue to serve as members of various committees.
We are excited to welcome Mary, Greg, Keith and Charles as our new board members. Their varied backgrounds will allow them to bring fresh ideas and leadership to our board to help guide the Foundation as we continually look to the future of our organization."
