Volunteers still needed

RUSHVILLE — Changing Footprints (changingfootprints.com) is a not-for-profit organization that collects, processes, and distributes new and gently used shoes to the needy in Indiana and around the world.

Based in Rushville, this fine charitable organization has acquired a building in Rushville which is now undergoing renovations that will greatly enhance CF’s processing and shipping and will provide office and meeting space, as well.

Your help is needed to make these renovations a reality.

On weekends in August, September and October, volunteers have installed fiberglass insulation and drywall.

Work sessions on Aug. 18 and 25, Sept. 8, 15 and 22 and Oct. 6 were very successful.

Insulation and drywall have been installed at all ceilings, the wall insulation is now installed and nearly all walls are now drywalled.

The next session is planned for this Saturday, Oct. 13.

This should be the final session needed to complete hanging the drywall.

Each work session is from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Work will be organized and led by John Street and Pete Burks of St. Luke’s UMC.

Volunteers are asked to provide their own hand tools, including hammer, tool belt or tool apron, utility knife and extra blades, tape measure, pencil and dust mask.
