LCC receives 2010 funding
The Local Coordinating Council for Drug Free Schools and Communities (LCC) is concerned with making and keeping area schools a safe and drug-free environment for students.
The organization works from a $15,000 budget.
Local LLC Coordinator Rob Hadley recently announced that this year’s budget had been received from the state.
Hadley said that requests for funding are limited to restrictions and limits imposed by state guidelines. Funds spent must be in one of four areas: prevention and education, treatment intervention or enforcement and justice.
The LCC is currently accepting funding proposal request for 2010.
New or existing funding applications must be completed and returned by Feb. 10 or Sept. 10 of the current funding year. Those applying for grant money must be in attendance at the February or September meeting.
LCC meetings are held at 1 p.m. the third Thursday of each month at the Boys & Girls Club of Rush County.
During the year, programs receiving funding by the LCC give updates at the monthly meetings about the activities the monies are used for and a brief overview of their group or organization.
