Parenting with Love and Logic program available next week

RUSHVILLE — The Parenting with Love and Logic program will be available next week at Rushville Elementary School East/West. This parenting program is designed to assist with answers to questions like:

l “How do I get them out of bed in time for the school bus?”

l “How can I stop my children from bickering and fighting?”

l “How can I avoid power struggles while teaching responsibility?”

l “How can I get my children to help with the chores without an argument?”

l And . . . many other day-to-day parenting challenges.

This program is one day per week for a total of three weeks. While each session builds upon the previous, you can choose to come to as many sessions that are convenient for you. The skills learned are highly universal for all ages. This program is FREE to all parents and is currently being offered:

Mondays from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.* beginning, Jan. 21; Mondays from 1–3 p.m. beginning Jan. 21; and Thursdays from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m. beginning Jan. 24.

*During the Monday evening sessions, children may also attend. They may participate in activities offered during this time or they may bring homework for assistance. Dinner will be provided during the first session on January 21 at 5:30 p.m.

This program is being held at Rushville Elementary School East/West (enter the doors at RES East). Registration forms can be obtained at any school or contact Mrs. Mandi Jackman at (765) 938-1616 (Ext. 272) or Mrs. Kelly Stephens at (765) 938-1509 (Ext. 251) to sign up.

    Julia A. Wickard, State Executive Director of USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) in Indiana announced FSA is currently conducting Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) signups for both general and continuous CRP. The General Signup began yesterday, May 20, 2013, and continues through June 14. Sign-up for continuous CRP began on May 13 and will continue through Sept. 30, 2013.

    During the most recent meeting of the Rush County Commissioners, Rush Count Sheriff Jeff Sherwood informed Bruce Levi, Mark Bacon and Ken Masters that the inmate population at the Rush County Jail continues to increase. According to Sherwood, 46 individuals are currently housed at the facility which is designed for 38 inmates.
