Speech team competes at Lawrence Central
The RCHS Speech Team traveled to Lawrence Central Saturday afternoon for a huge meet that included over 35 schools and 500 contestants.
Placing for the local team was Hannah Simpson with a 10th, and 9th place finish in Impromptu and Original Performance.
In Broadcasting, Connie Harcourt and Mitch Columbe placed 5th and 8th respectively.
The high ribbon placer was Tiffany Alexander and Kile Stevens, placing 3rd with their original performance titled “History: Out of the Textbook.”
As a team the Lions placed 4th overall and took home another varsity trophy.
"We continue to rebuild a great tradition at RCHS," coach Ed Small said. "This group of kids is extremely talented, and I am so proud of where we are currently. It is only a matter of time before we bring Rushville back to first place in forensic."

ISP closes Connersville Post
The Indiana State Police Post serving our area relocated from Rushville to Connersville in 1938. Since that time, the post known as “Old Post 6” has been a fixture south of Connersville on State Road 1.

Board approves new attorney in RPD’s Lane firing
The Rushville Board of Public Works and Safety approved hiring outside legal counsel in the dismissal of Patrolman Chris Lane’s litigation at a special meeting Tuesday at City Hall.
