Opportunity School coming this summer

RUSHVILLE — Rush County Schools is committed to the premise that all students can learn and succeed when provided with an educational environment that meets their needs and interests.

Because some students may learn better outside the traditional school setting, Rush County Schools has created a place where students can experience academic and personal success in a new way: Opportunity School.

Opportunity School is a completely new way for students to complete their high school education and receive their diploma. It is also a great place to take additional dual credit courses.

At Opportunity School:

l Experience a stress free way to opt back into school and complete what you started.

l Complete your diploma and secure your future.

l Enjoy a flexible schedule designed to work with you.

l Take one course at a time (exceptions can be made). Courses are structured for students to work at their own pace.

l You have on site assistance if and when you need help.

l You have a wide range of courses to select from and could take additional classes for college credit.

l Class blocks are daily from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. and will follow the regular school calendar.

l You will attend classes away from the normal high school setting.

Opportunity School is located at 330 W. Eighth Street (RCS Administration Building), Rushville.

On-site parking available.

Apply by completing the Opportunity School Application Form on the RCHS web page (http://rchs.rushville.k12.in.us/) under the Opportunity School link. Or, request an application by calling (765) 932-3901.

There is a special Questions and Answers section under the Opportunity School link on the RCHS web page). Or, you can contact Matt Vance at (765)932-3901 or e-mail inquiries to: OpportunitySchool@rushville.k12.in.us

Local superintendent of schools Dr. John Williams stated, “We are excited about the creation of this new learning environment. We believe the possibilities for our students to succeed will be substantial with the addition of the Opportunity School.”
