St. Mary Fall Festival is Sunday

A well-known fall activity and annual crowd pleaser full of fellowship and fun is coming around again this Sunday. The community is invited to the annual St. Mary Catholic Church Fall Festival Sunday on the corner of Fifth and Perkins Streets, Rushville. Activities are planned throughout the day for the entire family. Fried chicken dinners with all the fixings including mashed potatoes and gravy, noodles, green beans, cole slaw or apple sauce, rolls, dessert and drink will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the school gymnasium. Carry-out chicken dinners will be available. Festival facilities are handicapped accessible. Tickets are $8 in advance and can be obtained at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and School office until noon Friday or are $8.50 at the door the day of the event. Children under 10 eat for $5. The $1,000 grand raffle (license # 121342) will be at 3 p.m. with lots of other raffle prizes ready to be won including a $100 gift certificate with Green’s Photography, $200 Curtis Brothers gift certificate, $25 Rushville Pharmacy gift certificate, $25 with Vogel’s Florists and tickets to attractions like Holiday World, Conner Prairie, the Indiana Pacers, the Indianapolis Indians and the Indianapolis Zoo. Dinner at the historic Copper Kettle Restaurant is also on the prize list. The Country Store opens at 1 p.m. with many craft treasurers. Gaming and vendors will be set up in the parking lot along with other activities. Children’s activities run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. A quilt raffle and 50/50 drawing will begin at 3 p.m. The co-chairs for this year’s event are Greg and Theresa Alexander and Kim and Ann Curtis.
