Glenwood Fire Department appreciates funding
Volunteer fire departments are a vital and necessary part of preserving rural life and assisting those in their moment of need.
As previously reported in the Rushville Republican, the cost of new and necessary equipment added to the escalating cost of maintaining current equipment often places a financial burden on smaller departments.
Those cost frequently require volunteers to host fundraising events such as weekend breakfasts to help offset budget cuts and cost increases.
In an effort to assist and show their support for the Glenwood Volunteer Fire Department, Falmouth Farm Supply, a sales agency of Pioneer Hi-Bred, recently made a $300 donation to the volunteer department.
“These funds are greatly appreciated and will be put to good use,” Devin Munson said as he accepted the check from Dale Thomas.
Pioneer and its sales organization are committed to helping improve the quality of life through local investments in communities where its customers and employees live and work. Each year Pioneer Community Investments directs roughly $5 million to nearly 2,000 not-for-profit organizations, representing agriculture, education, health and other needs.
