Free fitness program kicks off Saturday
LifeLong Wellness Session 4 starts Saturday at Anytime Fitness in Rushville.
This is a free comprehensive wellness program focusing on exercise, nutrition and overall health and wellness sponsored by the Rush County United Fund and partners, Rush Memorial Hospital, Rush County Chamber of Commerce, Rush County ECDC, Rush County Community Foundation, City of Rushville, the Rush County Commissioners, Rush County Health Department and Anytime Fitness. Participants have to sign waivers, and wellness data will be collected at the start and at the end of the session.
Organizers test blood pressure, glucose levels, cholesterol levels, BMI, height, weight and body measurements.
These tests are free as well.
In order to be eligible, you must be a resident of Rush County; that's it!
The program includes giving away a $250 prize and a free six month membership to Anytime Fitness at the end of the session to the two people making the most dramatic change in overall health.

ISP closes Connersville Post
The Indiana State Police Post serving our area relocated from Rushville to Connersville in 1938. Since that time, the post known as “Old Post 6” has been a fixture south of Connersville on State Road 1.

Board approves new attorney in RPD’s Lane firing
The Rushville Board of Public Works and Safety approved hiring outside legal counsel in the dismissal of Patrolman Chris Lane’s litigation at a special meeting Tuesday at City Hall.
