u Rushville Parks Department’s seventh annual Halloween costume parade is at 6 p.m. today at the livestock pavilion, Rushville Fairgrounds. Sign-up is at 5:30 p.m. Treat bags for all children, prizes by age groups.
Coats For Kids
u Coats for Kids distribution will take place from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the F.O.P. Lodge, located directly behind the Rushville Fire Department, in the 200 block of East Second Street, Rushville. Open to all families in need of children’s winter wear.
Raleigh fundraiser
u Raleigh Community Club is hosting a chili and potato soup dinner from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday. Cost is $6. Proceeds benefit the center. Carter Lanning Band will then play from 8 to 11 p.m. Open to the public.
Tax reminder
u Rush County Treasurer Mary Ann Beard reminds taxpayers that their property taxes are due Nov. 10. Payments may be made at the Treasurer’s office on the second floor of the courthouse, at MainSource Bank, by mail, or by e-mail or telephone credit card payment. Questions may be directed to the Treasurer’s office at 932-2386.
Animal Shelter Fundraiser
u The Rushville Animal Shelter is collecting old cell phones and printer ink cartridges as part of a recycling fundraiser. If you would like to donate drop your items off at the shelter, 223 Smiley Avenue or call 932-4754. The shelter is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday.
