Rush County Treasurer Mary Ann Beard reminds Rush County taxpayers of the property tax deadline of June 30. Tax bills were mailed June 5. The Spring statement or “A” copy is needed for your spring payment. Lost bills may be duplicated in the treasurer’s office. Payments received after June 30 will receive a 5 percent penalty for the first 30 days and an additional 5 percent penalty after 30 days.
n The treasurer’s office is available to receive your payments 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The office is located on the second floor of the Rush County Courthouse. Please bring all copies of your bill when paying in person.
n All taxpayers are welcome to pay their taxes at MainSource bank downtown, the Foster Heights branch, and the Knightstown branch.
n When paying by mail please send the “A” coupon if you are only paying the spring installment. Please send the “A” and “B” coupons if you wish to pay both installments. Keep the “C” coupon as your receipt. You can mark the date and the check number for your records. The treasurer’s office will not be returning any paid receipts. Allow sufficient time for mailing. All payments must be postmarked June 30.
n Credit card payments may be made on-line at www.officialpayments.com or by calling 1-800-272-9829 using jurisdiction code 2432. There is a 3 percent fee charged for this service. No credit card payments may be accepted in the treasurer’s office or at MainSource bank.
