RUSHVILLE —
Griffin Bryant, Karyn Banks, Jordan Kennedy and Brayton Watson not only recently won their school level of the National History Bee contest, but they have also qualified for the regionals to be held April 8 in Lexington, Ky.
The National History Bee is a newer history competition for school children across America.
Participating students progress from the school level to the regional level and finally to the national championship until one student is crowned the National History Bee Champion!
The four top students from the school level competition take a test to qualify for the regional contest. Students win a spot at one of 36 regional contests by becoming one of the top 120 scoring students in the qualifying test.
Last year’s national champion received a $50,000 scholarship.
The contest is sponsored by The History Channel, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, and other organizations.
The national championship round will be held in Atlanta, Ga.
