Harcourt Way at Main to close

Storm sewer installation requires temporary closure

CNHI

RUSHVILLE —

The Indiana Department of Transportation will place barricades at the Main Street/Harcourt Way intersection Tuesday. During this closure, pipe crews will excavate and install a storm sewer trunkline between Park Boulevard and Conrad Harcourt Way. Once pipes have been placed, in two to three weeks, Main Street will again be open to traffic to Harcourt Way. Sunesis, the state’s contractor, has been installing new water lines moving north from Fourth Street to Harcourt Way. This work will resume after the storm sewer installation at Park Boulevard has concluded. Later in the summer, Main Street north of Harcourt Way will be closed again for pavement removal, lime stabilization of the subbase and asphalt paving. When completed next year, 1.63 miles of Main Street from the Flatrock River bridge to Rushville’s north side will have been rebuilt. The project includes ADA-compliant sidewalks on both sides of Main Street and the planting of nearly 250 new trees.
