RUSHVILLE —
Selma G. Earnest , 98, of Rushville, passed away Oct. 24, 2012, at her residence.
Selma was born in Franklin County on April 13, 1914, the daughter of the late Fred & Anna (Wolber) Gesell.
She graduated from Brookville High School in 1932 and Central Normal College in 1935. She taught in the Franklin County School System. She was the widow of the late Kenneth Earnest whom she married Oct. 22, 1938. He died in 1995. She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Rushville.
Survivors include her sister Alpha Jo Haffey and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son Stephen; brothers, Clarence, Eli and Irvin; and sisters, Edna, Hilda, Freda, Alma, Amanda and Norma.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at Todd Funeral Centre & Crematory with Pastor Mick Saunders officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.
