RUSHVILLE —
James A. Crain, 71, a longtime Rushville resident, passed away at his home Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013.
He was born March 31, 1941 in Franklin County, to Herman J. and Dorothy Marie (Tomlin) Crain.
He spent his early life in Metamora and a few years in Milroy before moving to Rushville and making it his home.
He married Elizabeth Ann Lee June 5, 1965; she survives.
Jim worked for General Motors in Indianapolis for nearly 40 years before retiring in 2003. He was a Golden Eagle at the Rushville Eagles Lodge, member of Rushville American Legion Post 150, was an avid golfer and loved watching old westerns.
In addition to his wife, Liz, survivors include sons, Jimmy Gene (Bobbi) Crain and Eddie B. Crain, both of Rushville; daughter, Melissa (Mike) Ooley of Rushville; brothers, Joe Crain and Glenn (Helen) Crain, both of Rushville; sister, Connie (Robert) Emme of Rushville; five grandchildren; two step grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and seven step great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville, with Pastor Ray Sweet III presiding. Burial in Rushville’s East Hill Cemetery. Visitation is 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary.
Memorials are requested to the Hospice of Decatur County.
