Born July 9, 1932 in Florence, Ky., she was the daughter of Roy and Carrie (Florence) Sorrell, both deceased. She married Thomas E. Orme Jr. Oct. 28, 1950; he preceded her in death March 2, 2008.

Mrs. Orme was a homemaker. She was a 1950 graduate of Rushville High School.

Survivors include daughters, Dianna (James) Welch of Petosky, Mich., Pennie (Larry) Herbert of Rushville and Melissa (Stuart) Funk of Florence, Kansas; brothers, James Sorrell of Rushville and Roy Wayne (Barb) Sorrell of Toledo, Ohio; sisters, Lila Meyer of Rushville and Norma (Ed) Hosford of Mobile, Ala.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Moster Mortuary in Rushville with Pastor Mick Saunders officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of service Friday at the mortuary.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rush County Cancer Fund at the Rush County Community Foundation.
