Dedrich "Dick" Sembach, 101

RUSHVILLE — Dedrich "Dick" Sembach, 101, of Glenwood, passed away Monday, Jan. 30, 2012 at his home.

Dick was born Jan. 15, 1911 in Ripley County to the late William and Addie (Graue) Sembach. He had been a resident of Glenwood since 1946. He was a 1929 graduate of Osgood High School, where he spent his early life. He was a meter tester for Southeastern Indiana Power Company in 1930. He became a service representative in 1950 for PSI and retired with the company in 1973. He also worked at the Sembach Grocery Store from 1935 to 1938. Dick was a member of the IBEW Union, electrical workers union. He also enjoyed rug making, gardening, picture framing and refinishing furniture.

He is survived by two sons, William R. (Janet) Sembach of Arlington and Paul (Lisa) Sembach of Glenwood; two daughters, Mrs. Allen (Julia) Coon of Glenwood and Becky Fancher and companion Tom Henry of Rushville; 12 grandchildren; and two step grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; eight step great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren and a step great-great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents Dick was preceded in death by his loving wife of 76 years, Ruth (Saunders) Sembach May 5, 2011; sisters, Luella Sembach and Anne Hapner; and an infant daughter.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 3, 2012 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville with Revs. Jay Noll and Phil Mitchell presiding. Friends are welcome to visit from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Burial following service at Rushville's East Hill Cemetery.
