RUSHVILLE —
Margaret E. Matney, 93, of Rushville, passed away Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012.
She was born Feb. 26, 1919 in Jefferson County to Roy and Bertie Ruth (Dilk) Disbro. She had lived in Rushville since her marriage to Ralph Matney Feb. 15, 1936. He passed away Jan. 25, 1974.
Margaret worked in several stores in downtown Rushville. She was a member of Rushville Church of the Nazarene. Her birthdate was the same day that Congress declared the Grand Canyon a national park.
She is survived by her beloved son, William R. Matney of Rushville; nephews, Rick (Sue) Anna Disbro of Milroy, Alan (Joanne) Disbro of Warsaw and Jon Disbro of Fort Wayne; a niece, Meleda (Jerry) Macy of Tenn.; several great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her brother, Melvin Disbro.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19 at Rushville Church of the Nazarene. Revs. Todd Reynolds and Leonard Dice will preside. Friends are welcome to visit from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville. Entombment will be in the East Hill Shrine Mausoleum.
Memorial contributions may be made to Rushville Church of the Nazarene.
