Evelyn Isaacs, 84

Rushville Republican

RUSHVILLE — Evelyn Isaacs, 84, a lifetime resident of Glenwood, passed away Jan. 9, 2013 in Rushville.

She was born Nov. 8, 1928 in Glenwood to Howard M. and Lona E. (Chaney) Pike. Evelyn married Donald Isaacs Jan. 11, 1947; he preceded her in death June 12, 2002.

Evelyn was a member of Glenwood Church of Christ where she had served as Sunday School teacher, treasurer and on the Missionary Society. She was a 1946 graduate of Fairview High School.

She is survived by her son, Barry Isaacs of Newville, Pa.; daughters, Patti and husband Michael Hedrick of Glenwood and Ylla Isaacs and husband Jim Puglis of Indianapolis; brother, Chaney and wife Kay Pike of Glenwood; sister, Margery Beissel of Arizona; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and companion, Earl Scott.

Besides her parents and husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Ivan; and sisters, Frances, Effie Lavonne and Sandra.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12 at Glenwood Church of Christ with George Huff presiding. A time of visiting will be from 10 a.m. until time of service that morning. Burial will be held at a later date in Glenwood Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Glenwood Church of Christ.
