RUSHVILLE —
Mary Ellen McDaniel, 96, a lifelong Rush County resident, passed away Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012 in Rushville. She was born Jan. 13, 1916 in Rush County to Leon Campbell and Bertha Mae (Woliung) McDaniel.
She was a 1934 graduate of Arlington High School and graduate of Central Business College in 1935. She worked many years as secretary at Greyhound, General Electric and Sherman Williams.
Mary Ellen was a member of the Arlington and Main Street Christian Churches. She was a very accomplished pianist and organist, having played 32 years for the Raleigh Community Club; many years for Eastern Star, where she was a 50-year member; Rushville 4-H style shows; the Melody Masters and for many other events in the community. She was also a member of Zeta Beta Chi, Alpha Chapter in Rushville.
Sammy and Henry were Mary Ellen's cats that she adored and treated as family.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville, where friends are welcome to visit from 11:30 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in Rushville's East Hill Cemetery. Bob Brock will preside.
