RUSHVILLE — Dorothy L. Phillips, 86, of Milroy, passed away Saturday Nov. 24, 2012, in Shelbyville. Dorothy was born in Greenup County, Ky., on Feb. 6, 1926, to the late Orville and Goldie (Dillow) Adkins.
Dorothy lived in Milroy and the Arlington area for most of her life and was a 1943 graduate of Arlington High School. Dorothy married Donald E. Phillips on June 25, 1954, and he preceded her in death on March 12, 2004. She retired from Philco Ford Aero Space of Connersville, working many years in assembly. Dorothy was a member of Big Flatrock Christian Church and the Dorcas Circle II.
Dorothy leaves behind three brothers, Orville “Bill” Adkins and wife Nancy of Rushville, Larry Adkins and wife Sharrell also of Rushville and Ronnie Adkins of Laurel; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Don; one brother, Mike Adkins; and three sisters, Eunice Sparks, Louise Piles and Avanelle Stagg.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at Moster Mortuary in Rushville with Rev. Robert G. Burgbacher and Pastor Rebecca Merriman-Gibbons presiding. Burial will follow at Arlington East Hill Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, at the mortuary.
