RUSHVILLE — Ameliabel Highlander, 92, of Rushville, passed away Monday, Nov. 26, 2012 at Miller’s Merry Manor.

Ameliabel was born March 26, 1920, a daughter of the late Gertrude (Bowels) and Gertrue White. She was the widow of William L. Highlander; he died Nov. 27, 1968.

She is survived by two children, Wayne W, (Brenda) Highlander of Connersville and Peggy (Rex) Gosnell of Rushville; grandsons, Bradley Hughes of Greensburg, Jeff (Linette) Hughes of Milroy, Bill (Emma) Highlander of Connersville; granddaughters, Tracey (Jeff) Jacobs of Connersville, Melinda (Gregg) Shank of Chambersburg, Pa., Camelia Hughes of Anderson.

She retired from Schnadig Corp. of Rushville. She was a member of Milroy United Methodist Church and a graduate of New Salem High School.

Funeral service was at 11 a.m. Friday at Burns Funeral Home, Milroy. Rev. Valerie Wilson officiated. Burial followed in Maple Grove Cemetery, Brookville.
