Betty J. Spaeth, 78

RUSHVILLE — Betty J. Spaeth, 78, of Rushville, passed away Dec. 15, 2012 at Miller’s Merry Manor.

Betty was born July 16, 1934 in Brookville, the daughter of the late Michael and Regina (Weber) Ritzi. She was a graduate of The Oldenburg Academy of the Immaculate Conception. She married Bernard J. Spaeth Aug. 28, 1954; he survives. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her entire family. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Sodality. She also served on the Parish Council where she was past president. Betty also served as chairman of the Activities Committee of the church.

Her loving family includes her husband of 58 years, Bernard J. Spaeth; daughters, Patty (Richard) Schultz & Ann (Joe) Robben, both of West Harrison, Eileen (Gary) Clemons of North Las Vegas, Nev., Connie (Jeff) Amos, Jeannie (Brian) Sutter and Jennifer (Darren) Hoeing, all of Rushville; sons, David (Debbie) Spaeth, Richard (Regina) Spaeth, Mike (Karen) Spaeth, Bill (Julie) Spaeth, Jim (Darlene) Spaeth, Chuck (Debbie) Spaeth and Bengie (Lisa) Spaeth, all of Rushville; 44 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two grandchildren and two sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Rushville with Rev. Jeremy Gries officiating. Burial will follow in Rushville’s Calvary Cemetery.

Friends are invited to call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19 at Todd Funeral Centre & Crematory, where the rosary will be recited at 4 p.m.
