RUSHVILLE —
Elizabeth G. “Betty” Morrell, 93, of Rushville, passed away March 19, 2013, in Rush Memorial Hospital.
She was born Jan. 11, 1920, in Roslyn, N.Y., to Thomas P. and Anna K. (Kammerer) Pickering.
Betty was a graduate of Roslyn High School. She married George H. Morrell Jr. April 24, 1943; he preceded her in death March 17, 1992.
Betty moved to Rushville in 1953. She was office administrator for Vibration Eliminator Company from 1954 to 1999. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, was a den mother with the local Cub Scouts, a member of the Psi Iota Xi Sorority and was on the board of directors for East Hill Shrine Mausoleum. She also served as secretary of the mausoleum board.
Betty is survived by her sons, Douglas W. Morrell, MD and his wife Juya of Rushville and George W. Morrell and his wife Ruth Ann of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Eric and wife Laura Townsend, Tai and Kenton Morrell.
Besides her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas, and a sister, Hazel Leek.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 28 at St. Paul United Methodist Church. Friends are welcome to visit from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 27 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville. Rev. Jan Dimick will preside. Entombment will be in East Hill Shrine Mausoleum.
Memorial contributions may be made to the East Hill Shrine Mausoleum Fund through the RCCF or St. Paul United Methodist Church.
