RUSHVILLE —
Willard H. Pierce, 87, of Rushville, passed away March 14, 2013, at Rush Memorial Hopital.
He was born March 20, 1925, in Wayne County, Ky. to John E. and Flonnie E. (Worsham) Pierce.
He spent his early life in the Monticello, Ky. area where he graduated from Monticello High School in 1942. He had lived in Rushville since 1968. He married Della Zimmerman Sept. 8, 1945; she preceded him in death July 18, 1998.
Willard retired from B&O Railroad in 1979 after 31 years. He worked in the Engineering Department.
He is survived by a son, Howard R. and wife Nancy Pierce of Rushville; daughters, Kathy and husband Bill Bockover of Rushville and Donna and husband Scott Garrison of Virginia Beach, Va.; sisters, Mary Turner of Monticello, Ky. and Mollie Taylor of Parkers Lake, Ky.; eight grandchildren, three of which reside in Rushville, Douglas Pierce, Jay Fields and Scott Fields; and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Willard was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Rudisill; sisters, Betty and Ethel; and a brother, John R.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 18 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville where friends are welcome to visit from 11 a.m. until time of service. Don Heller will preside and burial will be in Rushville East Hill Cemetery.
