Myrtle I. Benson, 88
Myrtle I. Benson, 88, of Rushville, died Sept. 17, 2009.
Born April 18, 1921 in Rush County, she was the daughter of Thomas and Edith (Brown) Gross, both deceased. She married Kelso McCorkle in June 1945; he preceded her in death in June 1953. She married Virgil Benson Oct. 11, 1970; he preceded her in death Nov. 19, 1980.
Mrs. Benson was a homemaker. She was an Auxiliary member of Rushville Eagles Lodge.
Survivors include daughters, Elaine (Steve) Hill of Falmouth and Rebecca Jo (Greg) Smith of Rushville; granddaughter, Jennifer Kay (Justin) Paddack of Lewisville; grandson; Jason Brent (Angie) Hill of Tampa, Fla.; and four great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husbands she was preceded in death by a brother and seven sisters.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Moster Mortuary in Rushville with Tony Augsburger officiating. Burial will be in Rushville's East Hill Cemetery. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Monday at the mortuary.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Research Fund.
