Dale Edward Kinder, 82

RUSHVILLE — Dale Edward Kinder, 82, a lifelong Rush County resident, passed away March 9, 2013, at his home in Rushville.

He was born Feb. 9, 1931, in Rush County to Lloyd and Margaret Ellen (Dickson) Kinder. He was a 1950 graduate of New Salem High School. He was a corporal in the US Army, serving in the Korea war. Dale married Charlotte Richardson May 28, 1952; she survives.

Dale farmed many years in Rush County. He also worked at Crop Production Services in New Salem most recently and had been a sorter for Pioneer many years after harvest. Dale was a member of Little Flatrock Christian Church, Rushville Eagles Lodge, American Legion Post #150 and the VFW. He was a 50+ year member of Andersonville Masonic Lodge F&AM. Dale was an avid IU and RCHS supporter.

Survivors in addition to his wife, Charlotte of Rushville, include a son, George and wife Susan Kinder of Rush County; daughters, Pam and husband Larry Miller of Southport and Karen and husband Jason Cox of Rushville; brothers, Harold Kinder of Rush County and James (Doug) and wife Nancy Kinder of Port Charlotte, Fla.; sisters, Doris Lucas of Marion, Stella McNaughton of Ohio and Janet and husband Glen Schaefer of Leland, Mich.; grandsons, Doug and wife Kheonna Kinder, Rob and wife Ashley Kinder, Sam and wife Brittany Kinder, Charlie Miller, Cameron and Adam Cox; great-grandsons, Bryan and Russell Kinder; and great-granddaughter, Thea Kinder.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Russell.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 13 at Moster Mortuary in Rushville with Warren Engel presiding. Friends are welcome to visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary. Masonic services will be provided by the Andersonville Lodge at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary. The Rush County Veterans Honor Guard will provide military rites Wednesday. Cremation will follow service and burial will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s favorite charity or the family asks that you donate blood in Dale’s memory. He had donated many gallons of his own blood throughout his lifetime.
