Kermit N. Maple, 81

RUSHVILLE — Kermit N. Maple, 81, a lifelong resident of Rush County, passed away January 15, 2013 in Rush County.  He was born on August 27, 1931 in Fayette County to Theodore R. & Roxie (VanOsdol) Maple.  He was married to Juanita Maple for many years and she preceded him in death in 1999. Kermit farmed in Rush County his entire life.  He served in the US Air Force for 4 years.  He was stationed at Sampson AFB in New York. Kermit was a member of the American Legion Post #150 in Rushville.

 Surviving are a son, Johnny Maple of New York, a step daughter, April of New York, brothers, Clifford Maple of Glenwood and Max & wife Wilma Maple of Kokomo, a nephew, Gary Spence of Carthage, a sister-in-law, Loretta Maple of Fayette County, 1 grandchild and 1 step grandchild.  In addition to his parents and wife, Kermit was preceded in death by brothers, Curtis, Harold & Jim and sisters, Jean & Arlene "Susie".

Services will be held at 1 PM Friday, January 18 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville where friends are welcome to visit after noon that day prior to service.  Burial will be in the Riverside cemetery in Carthage and John Wall will preside.  Military rites will be observed at the mortuary before services and will be provided by the Rush County Veteran's Honor Guard.
