Patricia J. Dawson, 81

Rushville Republican

RUSHVILLE — Patricia J. Dawson, 81, of Manilla passed away Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013.

She was born July 16, 1931, to the late Albert and Mary Christena (McCreary) Frederick. She married Theron Dawson Sept. 28, 1952. He survives.

In addition to her husband, Theron Dawson of Manilla, survivors include three daughters, Diana (Norman) Roberts of Avon, Anita Smith of Greenfield and Jane (Jeffrey) St. John of Manilla; a sister, Marian Miller of Rushville; 11 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, James, Norman and an infant brother Charles; and son-in-law, Larry Smith.

She graduated in 1949 from Rushville High School and was a homemaker.

She was a member of Morristown Christian Church and had been a long-time Sunday school teacher at the Manilla Christian Church. Patricia enjoyed her church friends and church functions and loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Hickman officiating. Burial will be at Manilla Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in care of the funeral home.
